Using the database DIALOG

Dialog
After previewing the tutorial and reading about this database, I was quite nervous about trying it out. However, once I got on and tried my search, I found it to be fairly easy to navigate.
Database used-ERIC
My search statement involves a topic that I deal with quite a bit as a teacher. I am interested in articles about tiered reading instruction and interventions for students who are not reading on grade level.
S1 -reading instruction- 23, 248 items.
S2-tiered reading-0 items. This did not surprise me because this is a relatively new term in educational literature. As with most things in education, tiered reading probably derived from a previously used strategies and it was given a new name,

At this point, I started to feel quite frustrated.
S5-education-884.009 items. I know that this is very overpowering, so now to narrow it down.

I felt like I was not getting anywhere, so I began to use terms that I have heard at inservices and training.
